If your TV is connected to cable or satellite or you pay for some other TV service than you will not require a converter box.

Just to be on the safe side however, possibly check with your cable and/or satellite provider to check and make sure there will not be anything else you need to do.

When I called my cable provider, (which I am not the most pleased with so I’ll make the switch to a satellite provider here soon) I just asked if there was anything I needed to do or any special equipment that I should purchase in order to get ready for the digital switch in February, 2009.

With my cable provider, there was nothing I needed to do, just continue to be a subscriber and they have it covered on their end.
