Once
the switch to digital was going to become authorized, Congress created a
program to help homes afford the converter boxes should they not have some form
of cable, satellite, or paid for TV service.
Many
homes will want to continue using their analog TV’s (me being one of them
because it was my first “big” purchase in college!) even after the switch to
digital on February 17, 2009.
Congress
created the program to allow each home to apply for no more then 2 coupons
valued at $40.00 a piece. Once you receive your converter box coupon, you can
apply the discount toward the purchase of a converter box.
